What We Do

Creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and building futures in the construction industry.

What We Do

Built Environment Pathways Masterclass

Our core offer is the Built Environment Pathways Masterclass,  a borough-based, employer-informed programme designed to create structured access into the sector.

We work locally to develop local labour, connecting residents to training, employment and self-employment opportunities within their own communities.

Through the Masterclass, we:

  • Provide clear industry insight and practical pathway planning

  • Signpost accredited training providers and enrolment routes

  • Deliver site behavioural readiness and induction preparation

  • Offer exposure to trades including carpentry, multi-trade, electrical, drylining, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting & decorating, construction operations and logistics entry pathways

  • Introduce realistic self-employment foundations for those seeking autonomy

  • Connect participants to social value-aligned employers and recruiters

  • Facilitate introductions to industry networks such as Fit Out Futures

  • Pair emerging talent with experienced trade mentors

Our approach is structured, practical and rooted in real industry experience. We prepare people not only to access opportunities, but to sustain them.

Wellbeing, Confidence & Personal Development Support

Workforce development is not only about technical skills, it is about confidence, resilience and belonging.

We provide structured wellbeing-informed support alongside our pathway delivery, ensuring individuals are prepared for the realities of the professional environment.

Our support includes:

  • 1:1 guidance and life skills coaching

  • Workshops on confidence, communication and conflict resolution

  • Site culture awareness and behavioural readiness

  • Mental Health First Aid informed sessions

  • Access to accredited practitioners where required

  • Safe, reflective group discussions rooted in lived and professional experience

We remove financial barriers wherever possible, ensuring support is accessible.

Our focus is not on labelling individuals, it is on strengthening capability, autonomy and long-term stability.

Social Value & Section 106 Workforce Delivery

We support developers, contractors, local authorities and housing providers to deliver meaningful workforce outcomes aligned to Section 106 and TOMs frameworks.

Our borough-based model enables partners to:

  • Develop reliable local labour pipelines

  • Engage underrepresented communities

  • Deliver measurable employment and training outcomes

  • Improve early-stage retention and workforce stability

  • Create empowered options for candidates and employers

We design and deliver pre-employment pathways, placements, employer engagement, and structured retention support.

Our work goes beyond compliance. We focus on long-term workforce sustainability, helping organisations build environments where diverse talent can thrive.

Mental Health, Inclusion & Equity Support & Outreach

The built environment has made progress in recognising wellbeing, but access, belonging and early support remain critical.

Altar Create CIC delivers inclusion-focused talks, workshops and facilitated sessions designed to open thoughtful dialogue around mental health, belonging and professional equity.

Our sessions are suitable for:

  • Young people and early career entrants

  • Trainees and apprentices

  • Site teams and supervisors

  • Employers and industry partners

  • Community and education settings

Sessions are calm, practical and human. They draw on lived experience and professional insight to:

  • Normalise conversations around wellbeing

  • Encourage early support-seeking

  • Strengthen understanding and empathy on site

  • Reduce isolation and improve team cohesion

We focus on elevating underrepresented voices within professional spaces, ensuring individuals feel seen, respected and capable.
