Welcome to Altar Create CIC
Supporting underrepresented groups to access skills, training, employment and self employment opportunities within the building industry. Building inclusive futures through equity, lived experience and diversity.
We are a London-based social enterprise creating structured pathways into the built environment.
We deliver employment readiness workshops, workforce development programmes, and pathway support to help individuals particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds access opportunities within the built environment sector. This includes both online sessions and in-person delivery through community venues and partner locations.
Our borough-based programmes have a strong focus on developing local labour, supporting residents to access meaningful careers within their own communities.
Our mission is simple and deliberate: to dismantle barriers faced by underrepresented groups by providing clear, structured access to training, employment and self-employment within the built environment.
Our vision is to serve as the bridge between a diverse, work-ready talent pool and an industry seeking skilled, sustainable growth.
Equity & Inclusion
Equality gives the same resources; equity tailors support so everyone can thrive. Our approach:
- Reducing barriers that prevent access
- Creating safe spaces where masking is not required
- Offering flexible support for diverse learning, mental health, and neurodivergent needs
We focus on elevating underrepresented voices in the professional workspace, including:
NEET young people
Women entering construction
Ex-offenders and care leavers
Neurodivergent individuals
College leavers and local residents facing structural barriersOur guidance is rooted in deep industry knowledge and empathetic assistance. We recognise that talent is widely distributed, opportunity is not.

Shaping the Future Workforce
In our work, acquiring vacancies should not be treated as a recruitment exercise. It should be treated as a workforce partnership strategy.
The goal is to build a predictable pipeline of:
- apprenticeships
- entry level labour opportunities
- work placements
- traineeships
- property maintenance roles
- retrofit opportunities
- trade assistant positions
for participants.

Become a Workforce Partner
Support our mission through sponsorship, donations or volunteering.
We work with both candidates and employers to create options that foster long-term autonomy and success.
For participants, this means structured preparation, practical insight, and clear progression routes.
